Eye on Elegance

Eye on Elegance is the companion online exhibition to the new museum exhibition about early quilts of Maryland and Virginia on display at the Daughters of the American Revolution. Planet Vox provided production services to Assemble, the exhibition designer, to create a series of seven videos for the exhibition website. The videos capture the beauty of the quilt masterpieces presented in the exhibition and explain how the women artists of the era made them, and also introduce website users to the four types of quilts presented in the show as well as educational programs offered by DAR. Interviews with DAR Museum Director Heidi Campbell-Shoaf, Exhibition Curator Alden O'Brien, and Curator of Education Marilyn Sklar are mixed with b-roll footage shot in the DAR Museum galleries, some of it using a glider. The footage was shot on a Canon 5D using two wide-angle lenses (Tokina 16-28mm and Tamron 24-70mm) along with the workhorse Canon 70-200mm f/2.8.
